My boyfriend said he was planning something big for my birthday, I had no clue what it was.
I get a text at 5 in the morning telling me to look out my window.
“Happy birthday baby!” in huge chalk letters on my street, I go outside finding a pillow pet and 2 dozen roses on my bench.

On 11/6/2010, my dad passed away after three years of fighting cancer.
I was so scared that I wasn’t going to be able to say goodbye because I live in residence at college.

This year my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer, and for Christmas he bought her a necklace in the shape of a heart and told her “no matter what happens, you’ll always be in my heart.”

A few days ago my dad was getting ready to go to the emergency room with appendicitis. In horrific pain, all he cared about was if my brother and I had warm enough coats for the morning.

I was watching the news the other day, they were talking about a man who fell in love with a woman when they where 20. But he was drafted, he never got to say goodbye to her.
